    "The Thirteenth Hour" is an illustrated fairy tale fantasy novel inspired by fantasy and sci-fi movies from the 1980s. This is the original music written for the book that was inspired by the new wave songs and movie scores from that era. This ballad was written from the perspective of Logan, the main character of "The Thirteenth Hour," as he realizes that the friendship he has with Aurora, his childhood friend, has changed for both him and her. It's about how relationships change over time (in this case, for the better).

I wrote the melody a number of months before and was planning on making it a solely instrumental track; then one day, the lyrics came to me in a matter of minutes. More about the song as well as a live piano performance of it before I had a title can be found here:
